Humble AI heads to Africa

London-based startup joins Mayor of London's trade mission to Lagos and Cape Town, marking the beginning of a long-term commitment to Africa's innovation ecosystem.

"Nigeria and South Africa are two of the world's most vibrant and rapidly developing tech ecosystems. I am delighted that Humble AI is joining me in Africa as part of London & Partners Grow London Global trade delegation as we work together to access opportunities, deliver growth and build a fairer and more prosperous London for all."

— Sadiq Khan, Mayor of London

Humble AI, the London-based startup on a mission to open up AI and automation to anyone, anywhere, is expanding into Africa — starting this week with visits to Lagos, Nigeria and Cape Town, South Africa.

The trip is part of the Grow London Global trade mission, led by the Mayor of London and delivered by London & Partners. Alongside 12 other high-growth startups focused on enterprise and sustainability, Humble will be connecting with some of Africa's most dynamic innovation communities.

More than a trade opportunity

For Humble, this is more than a trade opportunity — it's the beginning of a long-term commitment to unlocking the full potential of Africa's innovation ecosystem. That includes the continent's youth — one of the world's largest and most entrepreneurial generations — as well as creators and enterprises already building at the frontier of digital technology.

Humble sees a major opportunity for young people to create AI-powered tools that support the businesses they build or work for, and to generate new income by launching products and services of their own.

"Just like YouTube empowered anyone to create content that others can consume, Humble empowers anyone to create AI products, tools and services that others can use and pay for."

— Mahdi Shariff, Cofounder of Humble AI

Connecting with Africa's tech ecosystems

Lagos and Cape Town are home to two of the world's most exciting tech ecosystems — shaped by local talent, creativity, and resilience. Humble is looking forward to connecting with the people driving this innovation and to building long-term relationships that support their work.

Humble's approach is grounded in access and empowerment. Its tools help individuals — even those without technical backgrounds — go from learning about AI to earning with AI. From first-time founders to educators and established enterprises, Humble is looking for partners who want to bring AI capability to the people who need it most.

Google-backed innovation

Humble recently completed the Google for Startups: AI First Accelerator, as one of only a small number of companies selected across the UK. That backing reflects the scale of the opportunity Humble is building toward — and the belief that AI should be a tool anyone can use to create, earn, and grow.

Mission focus

This visit is focused on:

  • Building long-term partnerships with local institutions, creators, and enterprises
  • Co-developing community-led training programmes and AI-powered tools
  • Supporting a new generation of African entrepreneurs building with AI
