Get set up for answers at your fingertips

1. Installing the Slack App

 

Step 1: Add Humble to your workspace

  • Click “Add to Slack” above.

  • Choose the Slack workspace you’d like to connect.

  • Click “Allow” to authorize the integration.
     

Step 2: Open Slack

  • Click “Open Slack” to return to your Slack interface.

  • Humble automatically creates a new channel for you: #humble-assistant.
     

Step 3: Optional setup

  • To add Humble to another channel, type @humble in that channel.

  • You can rename #humble-assistant to something that fits your team’s naming style.

 

2. Getting Started in Slack

Depending on where you’re setting things up:

If you’re using the Humble-created channel (#humble-assistant):

  • You’ll see a welcome message with a “Set up an Assistant” button.
     

If you’re using another channel:

  1. Type @humble to invite Humble to that channel.

  2. Send the command /humble-settings.

  3. Click “Set up an Assistant” when prompted.

3. Setting Up a Q&A Assistant

The Q&A Assistant lets you ask questions and get answers from your own knowledge base.

Before you begin:
You’ll need a Humble account with at least one knowledge base set up.

To set up your Q&A Assistant:

  1. In Slack, click “Set up an Assistant.

  2. Select Q&A Assistant, then click Next.

  3. Choose how Humble should respond:

    • On demand: Replies only when mentioned (@humble).

    • Always on: Replies to every message in the channel.

  4. Select the knowledge base you want it to use.

  5. Click “Finish Setup.
     

Now you can ask questions directly in Slack—Humble will respond using the information in your knowledge base.

4. Setting Up a Research Assistant

The Research Assistant helps you quickly find company details from names, websites, or email addresses.


To set it up:

  1. In Slack, click “Set up an Assistant.

  2. Select Research Assistant, then click Next.

  3. Click “Finish Setup.
     

Now you can send messages like:

Humble will return relevant company insights right in Slack.
Tip: You can also DM @humble directly—no setup required for research queries.

5. Getting Support
